Root One Garden Centre

Root One is a privately-owned independent Garden Centre and member of the Horticultural Trades Association (HTA). Situated on a busy road running between Wallingford and Didcot, it is easily accessible, has ample free parking, and enjoys outstanding views to the Chilterns.

Established in June 2001, the site has benefited from a substantial and sustained investment programme and the business has steadily grown into the local attraction it has now become.

2004 saw the opening of a new plant area and the establishment of our now thriving Café. This has a really friendly feel to it with many regulars returning time and time again to meet friends and have a coffee, read the paper, and perhaps indulge in our best selling All Day Breakfast!

The plants, however, remain the stars and backbone of our business. While larger garden centres concentrate on turning themselves into ‘department stores in the country’, we remain as focussed as ever on our core product, and 2010 will see the opening of our new polytunnel and covered walkway. This will once again re-affirm the nursery background and credentials of Root One, and the emphasis we place here on the quality of our plant offering and the knowledge and expertise of our staff.

We operate a free delivery service to Wallingford and nearby villages. Nominal charges apply if we have to go further afield.

Root One is open 7 days a week - Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm, Sundays 10.30am to 4.30pm, but please note we are closed between Christmas and New Year for the festive period, and also on Easter Sundays in order to comply with current Sunday Trading Laws.
