Root One Garden Centre

For 5 years now the Café has been both at the heart and most definitely at the stomach of the garden centre!! Its stylish modern warm and comfortable interior (60 covers) is complemented by a marvellous outdoor terrace offering views to the Chilterns, and recently covered by a magnificent awning. Our coffee is a classic Italian style blend, sourced from Africa and Latin America, hand roasted and freshly ground to give a great cup of coffee every time. All food is freshly prepared to order, and cooked on the premises, and wherever possible, locally sourced. The SODC recently awarded the kitchen 4 stars in their Scores on the Doors hygiene assessment and Jenny Mackrory, the Manager, is determined to make those 5 stars next time round!!

The Café serves hot meals, baguettes, paninis, soups of the day, cakes and scones, as well of course as its best-selling All-Day Breakfast. Healthy options are available but the smell of bacon in the morning is difficult to resist it seems!!! Please refer to the Daily Menu page for more information. Tuesdays is OAP day when a special price is available on the dish of the day. There is a great emphasis placed on speed of service so this is an ideal place to eat if you are pressed for time and need to get back to work, but equally all are welcome to tarry and read the papers if that is what you wish! A kids menu is available with simple unfussy options, sensible size portions and priced to keep mum and dad happy!

The venue has also played host to a number of special occasion lunches and tea parties. If interested please contact the Café staff to discuss your requirements.

Full toilet facilities are available, including a baby changing facility, and there is good disabled access to Café One. A wheelchair is available if required.
