Last weekend we were delighted to be involved in the GAP Festival – which started as an ambitious cultural project in 2014 aiming to bring outstanding art, music, literature and culture to the villages of Goring and Streatley.
Joe Swift was on great form and spoke very well about both his personal life and his professional career working on Gardeners World. The main focus of his talk was his 2012 gold medal winning Chelsea garden and the pressures and logistics of pulling off this tremendous pressure feat. He was funny and inspiring and greatly enjoyed by all present.
The Gardeners Q&A followed and the local panel (including our very own Jeremy) answered a series of questions from the audience covering such topics as gardening on chalky soil, wild flower meadows, and plants suited to difficult shady corners. All 5 panellists contributed their extensive combined knowledge and the hour passed very quickly and was again enjoyed by all who stayed.
